Our area is great for growing fruit trees, you can have variety and selection of multiple varieties that last through a season. However growing your own food is going to be a lot of work but it is rewarding. So before you begin it good to plan out your home orchard properly. Apple, Pears and Cherries require routine spraying to keep the fruit free of pests. Peaches, Nectarines, Apricots, Plums and Pluots don't have many pests that burrow into the fruit that require frequent and routine spraying. So if spraying isn't your thing choose wisely.
